Ragged robin (Silene flos-cuculi)
Ragged Robin is another of our native plants which looks far too exotic to be a wildflower. It's usually associated with wet meadow and woodland habitat and used to be widespread across the UK. Confusingly, until recently its botanical name was "Lychnis flos-cuculi" and its common name has varied too - in Elizabethan times known as Crowflower. It usually grows to around 75cm, and seems to be a favourite of bumblebees.
We offer Ragged Robin as 65cc plugs.
Please note that these plug plants are only available on a seasonal basis. The nursery grows new stock from autumn to early spring, so we do not deliver over this period.
