Butomus Umbellatus, flowering rush, is one of our most exotic aquatic wildflowers. Its delicate pink umbels are held on stalks up to 90cm in mid summer. Flowering rush was originally from Asia and is now pretty rare in the UK, although it can be invasive in the US, where it was introduced. It needs planting in a submerged site and requires relatively high fertility soil.

We offer flowering rush as a bare rooted plant. Please note that these plants are only available on a seasonal basis, however. The nursery grows new stock from autumn to early spring, so we do not deliver over this period.
